    Surface Book not starting correctly

    Hi Colin,

If your Surface Book is stuck in an Automatic Repair loop, it could mean that the automatic repair has failed to repair Windows and is constantly attempting to repair it. We recommend that you restore Windows from a system restore point. Restoring would
take your Surface back to an earlier point in time when an app, driver, or update has been installed that might have caused the system to not start correctly. Here's how to restore your system from a system restore point:

    • From the Automatic Repair screen, select Advanced options
      > Troubleshoot.
    • From there, select System Restore.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions from the wizard to restore your system when it is functional.

If restoring does not help or there is no system restore point, you may use a recovery drive to reset your Surface. Kindly download a recovery image for your Surface from this link. After downloading the recovery image, kindly follow the steps below on how
to reset your Surface using the recovery image:

    • Power off your Surface and boot it from a USB device. For information about booting Surface from a USB device, kindly see
Boot Surface from a USB device.
    • On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot, and then select
      Reset this PC.
Note: Resetting would reinstall Windows 10 and would let you choose whether to keep your files or remove them.

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask us.

If you think this was useful, you may "mark it as an answer" to help those who are facing the same problem.

    Surface Book Automatic Repair Issue

    Hey guys,

I just purchased the Surface Book i5 256 8GB with GPU running Windows 10 Pro and unfortunately I am having an issue with Automatic Repair. When I first set up the device it was working fine, however after I installed the necessary updates and the computer
restarted the Surface logo popped up and under it, it said "Diagnosing Issue" and now a blue screen comes up saying "Automatic Repair" and "Your PC did not start correctly". I tried restarting, which did not work, and then I went into advanced options and
tried a couple different options like getting the recovery key and restarting Windows, but that did not work either. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
