    Login with PIN and Hello

    Hi Jean,

Windows 10 includes multiple options to sign-in to your account, including the ability to sign-in using a PIN and Windows Hello, which uses facial recognition. For us to provide a solution suited to your concern, we need additional information. Can
    you answer the questions below?

    • How are you setting the PIN and Hello?
    • Which build version of Windows is your PC running on?
    • Were there any error codes or messages?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to set up PIN.

    • Open Settings.
    • Select Accounts.
    • Click Sign-in options.
    • Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.
    • Do the same for the Windows Hello.

    Looking forward to your response.

PIN Sign In as secondary sign in method when Windows Hello fails to recognize me

Occasionally when attempting to sign in to my Surface Book 2 Windows Hello fails to recognize me, possibly due to lighting or some other problem. Instead of getting up and looking I'm dancing with my computer (toward
more favorable conditions), I would like to sign-in with my PIN as a secondary method. When I had a Surface Book 1 and Windows Hello failed, I always had the option to sign in using my 4 digit PIN. But now on my Book 2 when Windows
Hello fails I get the message "Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device. You can setup your PIN again by going to settings > accounts > sign in options."

    Settings > Sign-in options > Require sign-in...

reads in red, "Windows Hello is preventing some options from being shown."

Settings > Sign-in options > PIN...allows me to change or remove my PIN but does not allow me to override the disabling of PIN sign in completely in favor of Windows Hello, even when Windows
    Hello fails.

I am able to remove Windows Hello but I would like to leave it as the primary sign in method. I am still able to Sign in with my Windows password when Windows Hello fails but I am trying to save keystrokes. Can anyone help me with editing permissions to
allow PIN sign-in even when Windows Hello is the primary sign-in method?

    Thanks.

Surface Go Windows Hello fails and does not offer PIN sign-in option

Surface won't accept Pin - "This sign in option is disabled because of failed sign in attempts or repeated shutdowns."

I have the same problem, in that my Microsoft Surface will not accept my PIN login since the last update (? about 2 weeks ago). I get the error message " this sign in option is disabled because of failed sign in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different
sign in option or keep your device powered on for at least two hours and then try again". I have done this without success.

I have now tried the solution above you gave, but this has not worked either. Please advise.
