Windows 10: Surface Laptop 3 Brightness issue

Hello! In the last maybe week or so, i am unable to adjust the brightness of the screen, unless i uninstall the display driver and let it reinstall. Once I let the laptop hibernate, i have to do it all over again. Sometimes I have a slider, but does nothing and other times its just not there. I have everything up to date completely. When the issue is present, there is a problem with the surface Panel.


Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43

Surface Laptop 3 with external monitor

Hi All,

Has anyone come across an issue with an external monitor blacking out while connected to a Surface Laptop 3? I have the laptop connected to a widescreen laptop with the Surface Dock. Both work fine however, once every hour or so the external monitor blacks out and comes back.

I've completed the following:

• Updated laptop drivers and firmware
  • Updated monitor drivers
  • Swapped out monitor

Boot Surface Laptop to USB - no Volume button

This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

*Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
