Windows 10: Surface laptop 7th edition restarting randomly

My new surface laptop 7th edition restarts randomly. It’s been doing this since I bought it. It happens in the middle of me using the laptop nothing high use, just emails or a word doc. The battery is not low, charge is plugged in. It’s not overheating. Not much running. All updates are up to date.

Updates for Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 March 7th 2017 Surface

When I first saw this post I was thinking Microsoft was releasing the new models.

I was all set to get a Surface Book Pro Performance edition with the 1TB SSD drive but have decided to hold off as rumors of a Surface Book Pro 2 loom. Don't want to spend the type of money on the Performance edition only to see a new model released months later. The supposed update includes the 7th gen Intel chip, an upgraded NVidia GPU, and perhaps more ports.

Anyway I was thinking this post was giving some insight into that, but apparently not.

Boot Surface Laptop to USB - no Volume button

Hello Jimmy,

This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
