Windows 10: Surface LAPTOP Go not reading USB port, how to fix?

A few days ago I was downloading something onto my USB stick because my laptop only supports 128 GB *eye roll* and my computer randomly froze on me while downloading. After force restarting my device there was no indication of my USB being read. I tried trouble shooting the process by trying different USB devices such as a western digital hard drive, an interface for a microphone, and I tried both using a USB C adapter and it picked up nothing. There also was no chime when plugged in, the only thing that made the chime was my Pixel 8 through the USB C port and again it just charges my phone

Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.

Fix usb ports on Windows 10

Has anyone been able to fix their usb ports on Windows 10? I've read the posts and Microsoft's canned comment, went through their steps, and still the usb ports will not work.

Has anyone found a solution?

 

Multi USB ports on surface laptop

I have recently invested in a portable external Rioddas CD/DVD R/RW and a 2TB hard drive for my laptop. Unfortunately the Surface laptop only has one USB port and as such I bought a Sabrent 4-port USB 3.0 Hub with power switches. The issue I have is when
both devices are connected the computer struggles to recognise either. I need the CD drive for work and the hard drive to save work on. The laptop is already pretty full of data so a working hard drive with the CD drive is essential. What I want to know is,
is this an issue with the Microsoft surface laptop and can it be resolved? or do I need to get my money back in the items?
