Surface laptop no longer able to connect to wifi network. The password is correct and all...

New Surface Laptop, all drivers updated. After one week, suddenly unable to connect to wifi. The password is correct, I've gone through all the steps in the troubleshooting, but just get the 'secured, unable to connect to this network' I can connect to hotspot, and my PC is connected to the network.

    :)

  2. Surface 3 connection to WiFi network

I am attempting to sign into a known wifi network that requires a user name and password (which I have). My name and password work on all my devices BUT the surface 3. Once I input the username and password, the screen boots me to the bottom of the list
and asks for the name and password 3+ times before it tells me I cannot connect to the network. Any thoughts or recommendations on how to get into this network? The Surface 3 works beautifully at my home on my home wifi, which is only password encrypted

    Thank you

  3. Home Network Desktop and Laptop no longer able to connect.

Home Network Desktop and Laptop no longer able to connect.

My desktop is a Dell Inspiron x64 running Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.17134 Build 17134 on local LAN connected via Broadband Internet Access. The computer has been formatted into two drives.

My laptop is also a Dell Inspiron x64 running Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.17134 Build 17134 on local LAN connected via Wireless Internet Access. The laptop has been formatted into two drives.

I run separate copies of Acronis True Image backup on both systems and they continuously sync selected files without difficulty. In the past it has been possible for me to exchange files between the computers via the Network folders. After a Windows update
that no longer became possible, however, I have no basis for assuming the update is the fault.

The File Explorer listing for Network shows both computers listed. All attempts to access the other computer listed under Network fails. "Windows cannot access \\Inspiron-5570" is a typical response seen following hours of connection attempts. The following
is another example of a response:

Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (INSPIRON-5570)Detected

It is available but is not responding to connection attempts. A firewall or network security policy on the remote computer might be blocking the connection on port "file and print sharing resource".

I've completely disabled virus, firewall and other security applications, but the effort failed to resolve the problem.

I've read and followed every suggestion I've found on the Internet in my attempts to resolve the problem. None of the suggestions I've found has provided the solution I need.

If the Acronis True Image software is able to SYNC information between the two computers, why am I not able to exchange information via the Network?

No network adapters available - Surface Laptop (1st Generation)

Issue: No network adapters found. Can only connect to internet using wireless USB dongle.

    Device: Surface Laptop (1st generation)
Windows version: 20H2 (OS Build 19042.867)

    My system info:
Dropbox - System info.txt - Simplify your life

Good evening, hope everyone is healthy and well, and coping okay in these uncertain times.

I recently bought a first generation Surface Laptop (second hand) with a "WiFi issue". Thinking that this would be an easy fix, I bought it.
The only way to connect to the internet is via a USB WiFi dongle - which wouldn't have been a problem if the device had more than one USB port.

Here is a screengrab of my Device Manager:

    Flight mode is also greyed-out:

List of network connections is empty when the wireless dongle is removed:

My system is up to date and sadly the device is out of warranty. I've been in touch with Microsoft Support - aside from being quoted over four hundred pounds to replace the device, they haven't been able to help me apart from helping me factory reset the device (five times!)

Can anyone help? If I've left out any technical details, please let me know and I'll gladly oblige.

    Cheers!

    Addendum:

Windows 10 S Surface Laptop (1st Gen) - No wifi adapter after update

I also followed the steps in the above thread, but unfortunately this didn't resolve my issue.
