Windows 10: Surface Laptop Studio stuck in tablet mode

Hello,I have a surface laptop studio, and for the past month it has been stuck in tablet mode. All of my apps are displayed in their tablet mode, and the screen does not register when I close it so the computer stays running all the time and my battery drains. I have also had apps open and start running things when my screen is closed, because it thinks it's in tablet mode and is still getting inputs from the screen touching the keyboard.Any ideas on how I can disable tablet mode completely from my computer as I rarely use it as a tablet or how I can fix this issue? I have tried a two button

Tablet Mode doesn't automatically turn on

Hi Roice,

We suggest you to follow the below steps to make the tablet mode permanent:

• Click start and select settings.
• Select settings and then select tablet mode.
• Now you have different options to choose from, please choose settings that suits you.

Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Stuck in Tablet Mode / Keyboard not working

I've found a fix that wasn't mentioned on any of the other support tickets about Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Stuck in Tablet Mode / Keyboard not working.

I tried restarting with volume button and power button - no luck

I tried uninstalling keyword in device manager - no luck

I did a full reset on the pro - no luck

I purchased a new keyboard - no luck

Eventually I realised that its not the keyword thats not working on the surface pro 8, but its that its stuck in tablet mode. However the screen didn't rotate, so it must be an issue with tablet mode.

So the fix for Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Stuck in Tablet Mode / Keyboard not working

Go into device manager

click display adaptors

uninstall the graphics - for me intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics
(dont tick anything else like remove graphics or delete, just uninstall)

Then press Up volume and power button at same time until laptop turns off and restarts

For me it fixed the issue. 6 hours of my life lost, but its fixed it now.
