Windows 10: Surface Pro 3 English version to Chinese version

I bought a used Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10 Pro English version installed. I have installed the Chinese language package. I am planning to change my English Surface Pro 3 to Chinese Surface Pro 3. I have the following questions:


Q1:


I am wondering what are the differences between these two options:


1. Set the Chinese language as the default language and set Country to China on my existing installed English version Windows 10 Pro

2. download and fresh install the Windows 10 Pro Chinese version


Q2:


If I choose above option 2, since I have the Surface Pro 3, can I get the Window 10 Pro Chinese version free? If yes, where and how?

Can I flash an English recovery image onto a Japanese Surface Pro 3

I have a Japanese Surface Pro 3 that I would like to convert to a 100% English version of Windows.

I have followed other guides and have "converted" the existing Japanese Windows installation to be 99% English, but it is still slightly non-English in a few places:

• The blue Windows update screens during a reboot are still in Japanese
  
• I can type/read in English fine, but the fonts look slightly off i.e. a different font is used than I am used to
  

I can enter my serial number and download a recovery image from https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/surfacerecoveryimage . The URL suggests that it will be en-NZ, but will it actually be the standard English image or will it use my serial number and give me a JP image? If it does give me an en-NZ image, will it actually install OK?

Could you please help me with the below information:

1. Does the battery drain out, if the tablet is not connected to peripherals?
   
   
2. Which version of Windows you are using? (To check, type: winver in start menu and hit enter.)
   

I understand how something like this can try your patience. This issue is an indication of faulty drivers or incompatible driver.
However, I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Check the drivers.

Step1: Battery driver

1. Press Windows andR
   key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
   
3. Click on view on top > Select Show hidden devices.
   
4. Expand the Batteries option from the list.
   
5. Select the ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery> right click on the driver and click on
   Properties.
6. Click on Driver tab > check if you have the option to
   Roll Back Driver.
7. If yes, Roll back the driver or uninstall it and restart the computer.
   

Uninstalling the driver will be automatically installed after the system is restarted. Check if the issue is fixed.

Step 2: Keyboard driver.

1. In the Device manager, go to ‘Other devices’, you will find
   Unknown devices.
   
2. Double tap on the unknown device > click on
   Driver tab> click on update driver.
   
3. Select browse my computer for driver software> Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers
   
4. Select keyboard, then click ‘Next’.
   
5. Select HID Keyboard device and click finish.
   

Method 2: Run the toolkit.


Note: If your Surface is managed by your work or school, check with your organization's IT department before running the tool.

Surface Pro 4 - Changing Single Language Version


Hello,

After attempting to change the display language on my Chinese Surface Pro 4, and also after much head-to-wall slamming, I have come to the conclusion that my computer is likely a single language version (why does this even exist? seriously....)


This is my winver

So I've then resolved to reinstall windows 10 with an English version. There are some questions I have regarding this:

1. Is the best/only way to do it through the Window's Media creation tool? Would a refresh windows or something similar do the trick?
2. Is there a hidden partition on my computer with a system restore function?
3. What about product keys and such? Windows 10 came with my computer (obviously) and I don't know of any product keys. Will I need one when I install windows through a Window's Media creation tool?
4. Finally, to use the Window's Media creation tool, is there a tutorial for this? I downloaded it from the microsoft website, but it runs in Chinese.....
