Windows 10: Surface Pro 3 Laptop - blue screen of death errors with second monitor connected

I cannot disable Setting > Display > Change brightness automatically when lighting changes




I've tried following recommendations: https://appuals.com/fix-windows-10-adaptive-brightness-wont-turn-off/


But under Power Options > Display > I don't have 'Enable adaptive brightness' as an option




Checking Device Manager > Display adapters > Intelr Irisr Plus Graphics:




This is a work laptop so I do not have administrator rights to change settings.

Surface Laptop 3 with external monitor

Hi All,

Has anyone come across an issue with an external monitor blacking out while connected to a Surface Laptop 3? I have the laptop connected to a widescreen laptop with the Surface Dock. Both work fine however, once every hour or so the external monitor blacks out and comes back.

I've completed the following:

• Updated laptop drivers and firmware
  • Updated monitor drivers
  • Swapped out monitor

I have a Surface Pro 6. I have it connected to a monitor to be used as a second screen. The resolution on the monitor is not the best quality. I have tired adjusting it, but can't seem to get it clear. Any suggestions?
