Windows 10: surface pro 3, sceen rotate grayed out

    surface pro 3, sceen rotate grayed out


    It has been a while since I wanted to use auto rotate. However , now that I want to use this feature it does not work. I have tried all the trouble shooting articles including updating windows and resetting my computer. also ran the trouble shooter. I have tried disconnecting the keyboard, going into all settings , and looked as the rotate button. also tried going into landscape mode, still grayed out

    Auto rotate not working properly in Surface Pro 3

    On my Surface Pro 3 I can rotate the display by turning the surface horizontal or vertical. To prevent this you can use the rotation lock setting but every so often the rotation lock button disappears (NOT grayed totally gone) and sometimes the screen flips
    to an undesired rotation and is then stuck. (de)attaching the keyboard doesn't alter the screen. the only way to fix the screen is I have to use the display settings.

    P.S Windows update is up to date.

    Surface pro 3 auto rotate not working after Windows 10 Creator Update

    Why would you want Auto rotate to work with the Type Cover attached? Thats intended behavior.

    I just tried this, I detached my Type Cover from Surface Pro 3, then a notification appeared 'Auto rotate is on' and the rotation lock in Action Center is no longer grayed out.

    Reattached it and its grayed out again.
