Windows 10: Surface Pro 4 Bitlocker engaged how to restore from backup and system image

Greetings!I have a Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 Pro that I purchased second hand in 2018, set up the same as a new machine, and have used ever since. After a recent Windows Update, it restarted to the Bitlocker recovery screen. As with many people, I had no idea this was being used and if it was there when I set up the computer it was Windows 7 at purchase time.I do not have a recovery key in my hardcopy password file, my USB "never-delete backup files" flash drive, nor is it in the Microsoft account despite the computer being registered there. Sector level backups on Surface Pro 4 - Bitlocker

I usually back up my standard PCs by booting from a USB drive and running a third party tool to create a sector-level backup to an image file that I store on an external drive. However, I have Bitlocker enabled on my Surface Pro 4 and wonder whether I will have issues either creating or restoring the backup of the physical drive. I suppose that I can disable Bitlocker before I create the backup, but will that create an issue if I attempt to restore the image file to the drive after I re-enabled Bitlocker? Thanks.

 

Restoring a Win 10 backup to new surface pro 4

The touch screen on my windows 10 surface pro 4 stopped working so I went into Settings->Updates & Security->Backup, added an external drive, and then backed up my computer files. I then returned the surface pro 4 to a microsoft store and got a new Windows
10 surface pro 4.

After performing the initial set up on my new windows 10 surface pro 4, I went into Settings->Updates & Security->Backup and then added the external drive. I then selected "More Options" and clicked "Restore files from a current backup". However, the screen
showed no backups. It doesn't seem to recognize my backup.

How do I restore the backup from my external drive to my new surface pro 4?

I've backup my surface pro 4 on a mobile disk last month, it cost 100GB+ spaces. Then I sent my surface back to microsoft to repair.

Now, I want to restore my system and have got the chose system image step. It auto-find the backup file, but when I click the "next" button, it shows I need to create a CD then restart the computer.

I restart the computer and enter the uefi to set restart from the usb, but it restart as normal and enter the system directly.

so I come to here for some help, thanks for anyone could help me!
