Windows 10: Surface Pro 4 - Issues after most recent update.

Hi!

I've been using my Surface Pro 4 every day for school and entertainment and had zero issues with it until the latest update.


1. When I try to sign-in, if Windows Hello doesn't recognize me, it says signing-in with my pin is disabled and to go into settings and enable it. There is no option to enable/disable in settings. I changed my pin and that didn't work.


2. When I press the power button, it used to put my surface to sleep...now when pressing the power button, it brings a drop down screen that says "slide to shut down your pc" and then the screen slowly drops down. Most times, i dont need it to be shut down, i would really like for it to just go to sleep. I found the advanced settings that allow me to decide what happens when i press the power button and they are set to sleep, but it is not sleeping.


While these issues seem to be fairly minor, it is very frustrating when I loved this tablet for its efficiency and effectiveness and now it is doing its own thing and I cant fix it.

Surface Pro 4 Constant WIfi Issues

As an initial step I would suggest you install all the pending updates on your computer, update to the latest available build and check if it helps fixing your issue.

Surface Pro 4 - Crashes / Freezes

The main causes observed so far are driver issues, so I suggest you to install and update all the drivers and see if it helps.

Download drivers and firmware for Surface

I would also suggest you to install all Windows update and check.

Follow the steps:

1. On the search bar type “Settings”.

2. Click on “Update and Security”.

3. Click on “Check for Updates”.

4. Read and accept the license terms, and then tap or click Finish if the update requires it.
