    Surface Pro 4: USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller and Surface Embedded Controller Firmware


    Hello, all. Have had this problem for a week.


    No ports usable, hence keyboard doesn't work either. Ports work fine at UEFI.


    Cannot re-image because USB is not recognised at that screen.


    Performed a complete wipe by removing personal files. Didn't help.


    Occasionally, I also get Surface Embedded Controller Firmware error code 14 and then 10. It resolves only when I roll back the driver.


    Windows fully updated.


    Tried DISM.exe scanhealth, startcomponentcleanup, restorehealth, and sfc /scannow.



    What else can I do?


    Windows 10 Pro

    OS build 17763.652

    Usb xHCI Compliant host controller Driver Error


    this fixed the Usb xHCI Compliant host controller Driver Error and now I have a Via USB 3 Root hub error... Any ideas?
