Windows 10: Surface Pro 6: SD card disconnects every time it uses a high computation power

Greetings, I have a Surface Pro 6 running on Windows 10 Home, and because I'm running out of disk space, I'm using an SD card which I inserted in the card slot. I have some games as well as some code on it.The problem comes when a game or a code runs with a high power demand: my SD card simply refuses the operation and gets disconnected, making me lose progress...I also can't find anything in the device manager: in Realtek USB 3.0 Card Reader, there is no "Power Management" window where I can uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"...

I cannot access same. I assume it not formatted is main reason (my guess). or - my 128 GB is too big?

How/what driver (?) I need to add?

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 - SD Card Drops Out - No Connection

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 that I use a Micro-SD Card for additional storage. I use the SD Card as an extra drive.

The problem is that the SD Card will simply disconnect and disappear. The only way to restore the connection is to either physically eject the card and re-insert it, or to re-start the computer.

I have verified the card contacts are clean, and tried this with 5 other cards of various sizes. All cards exhibit the same behavior.

I do not think it is a connection issue, since it can also be restored by re-starting the computer.

There does not seem to be anything in the power settings that would randomly disconnect the card. It happens both when the computer is idle, and sometimes while I am using it.

The computer has been routinely updated, and this problem has been going on since it was new (a year ago).

My question(s):

Is there a way to fix this?

If no fix is available, is there another way to re-connect the card without a computer re-start, or physically ejecting/re-inserting the card?

My apologies, I don't know the Surface Pro 6 so I can't provide a 100% solution for what you are trying to accomplish, but I can suggest a close workaround if you find no answer.

If you were to consider encrypting your drive with BitLocker, there is an option for BitLocker to require a pre-boot PIN. This means that the PIN would be needed each time the computer is started or it will not even boot.

Hopefully someone can suggest a better solution, but I thought that I would point out this similar alternative.
