Windows 10: Surface Pro 8 - Slim Pen as mouse has subtly different behavior than mouse or touchpad

While the Slim Pen on my Surface Pro 8 is working mostly OK e.g. I can click onto objects or select things, I can nicely ink in OneNote, etc. there are a few odd differences between pen and mouse behavior:E.g. in the browser Edge one can normally press the left mouse button a bit left of the URL where the lock icons appear and then drag that URL to some place e.g. onto the desktop. Oddly, that same "mouse gesture" does not work with the pen! When I place the pen tip onto the lock and press it slightly against the screen, nothing happens, i.e. the "URL object" does not "engage" and "hoo

Arc Bluetooth mouse not working properly with Surface 3

Experienced same issue, disconnecting Arc Mouse then reconnect worked fine, but not mouse interaction.

Below steps worked for me:

• Remove all Bluetooth connected devices, including Surface Type Cover and Surface Pen.
• Disconnected the Surface Type Cover then reconnect. It will reinstall tand connect the device.
• Then Add Bluetooth devices including Surface Pen and last but not least Arc Bluetooth Mouse.

Everything works fine again.

 

Mouse without borders mouse behavior issue

Hi David,

Erratic mouse behaviors may be a caused by a corrupted software or a defective device. Hence, we would like to know more:

• Have you done any changes on your computer?
• Are we working on a wired or a wireless device?
• If it is a wired device, have you tried a different USB port?
• Have you used a different mouse and check if the issue persist?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

about Hardware Troubleshooter Drivers. Please find the steps on how to update a device driver using Windows Update.
