This Surface Pro X has had this problem for a while, perhaps after some update as it was not a problem until the last couple of months. The Surface is up to date.The speakers often don't work. I have to temporarily choose any other option for speakers, with Dolby Atmos being the default, and then rechoose Dolby Atmos and then they work. They often don't work after rebooting and after I open YouTube.I tried deleting Dolby Atmos, but Windows reinstalls it.The current available settings when I open the Sound Output dialog from the Taskbar are:Speakers Surface QualcommR Aqstic TMSpatial sou

We would like to confirm if you have check if you Dolby Atmos can be dectect by your computer?

We suggest that you check if its being detected by following these steps:

• At the bottom right side of your screen, where the Time and date can also be located, look for the
  sound icon.
• Right click on the sound icon, a smaill window will pop up with the Sound
  menus.
• Click on the Playback Devices.
• The Sound window will appear with the Playback
  tab.
• Look for Dolby Atmos to make sure that it is properly installed.

If its not on the list in Playback Devices, kindly check if its listed in Device Manager by:

• From the Start menu, type in Device Manager, then
  Enter.
• Then click the Sound, video and game controllers driver.
• Look for Dolby Atmos, then right click on it, then click
  Unintall.
• Once done, remove your Dolby Atmos device and restart you computer.
  

After your computer has restarted and your are in the Desktop screen of your computer, connect your Dolby Atmos device. It should automatically be installed in your computer by giving you prompts. Once successfully installed, kindly check if it is detected
now by you computer in Playback Devices.

dolby atmos doesnt work on my Pc.

From Device Manager

1. high definition audio driver ( turned off )
2. NVIDIA high definition audio ( turned off )

Restart computer.

1. Right click on speaker icon
2. Open voice settings
3. Click on Device features
4. in Spatial Souns section choose Dolby Atmos.

Restart computer.

This one fixes all the problems in new version of Windows 10 Pro. so i dont need any other versions anymore.

HeadSet Dolby Atmos works fine. tested it in Tom Clancy's The Division 2+Netflix also.

Unfortunately your setup has too many moving parts to properly diagnose your system.

All I can say is that you can google threads here and elsewhere that talked about how it used to be able to activate windows sonic for headphones or dolby atmos for headphones or dts x for headphones with your normal computer speakers. Then threads suddenly appear to say that they don't work with computer speakers anymore and that only headphones can activate it.

If your game is listed as dolby atmos compatible, then dolby atmos for home theater should work. But your HDFury Arcana is nothing but a device that is trying to defeat HDCP. If it works, then wink wink it works. If it doesn't work, no tech support is going to touch it.
