Surface pro5: UEFI Loop/ Recovery message disk is too small

The issue started with UEFI loop and i followed the direction MS procided to reset the computer.

I created recovery USB disk and downloaded the recovery file. When i click “Recover from a drive”, message reads system disk is too small. The USB is 32gb and the surface system is 128gb model. Per someone’s suggestion, i went to CMD and “Diskpart” and “List disk”. The message read “Disk 0 with size as 0 and free as 0.

    :)

Surface Pro stuck in SURFACE UEFI screen reboot loop

    Andre,

Thanks for pointing me at that but I'm afraid it didn't work - only got me back to the SURFACE UEFI screen.

I'm really struggling with this and may have to return the device. Pity, it's a replacement for my previous Surface 4 pro with which I was very happy (in fact typing this on it).

    Thanks again

    Surface in Auto repair loop

    Hi Spooky.

While I don't own a Surface would you mind sharing which Surface you have. In this article they mention how to enter BIOS, well technically the UEFI.

    https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en...-10&=undefined

    It states
How do I get to the UEFI settings?

The UEFI settings can be adjusted only during system startup. To load the UEFI firmware settings menu:

Step 1: Shut down your Surface.

Step 2: Press and hold the volume-up button on your Surface and at the same time, press and release the power button.

Step 3: When you see the Surface logo, release the volume-up button. The UEFI menu will display within a few seconds.

Not sure if your Surface has this capability. I thinking if you can get in a shut off secure boot.
