Windows 10: Suspected problem with latest DirectX version

Hi,I suspect there is a major issue with the latest version on DirectX, causing some games fail to launch. A quick summary, of how I became to suspect DirectX. I play Civilization VI among other games quite a lot and all has been working great on my system before. On July 27th the game suddenly failed to launch giving a "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION i..." error. I did not think too much of it at the time, just thought I need to reboot my computer or something, and since I was going on a trip I let it be. When returning from the trip it was time to problem shoot the issue. I tried booting my co

First, I would suggest you to check that which version of Direct X is currently installed on your computer.

To use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to determine the version of DirectX that is installed on your computer, follow these steps:

• Click Start, and then click Run.
• Type dxdiag, and then click OK.
• On the System tab, note the version of DirectX that is displayed on the DirectX Version line.
• On the various tabs, check the version information for each DirectX file.
• When you are finished checking file versions, click Exit.

If Windows cannot find the dxdiag program, DirectX installed on your computer. If this is the case, download and install the latest version of DirectX.

IT seems you need to have the latest version of DirectX, here are steps on how to get the latest Directx update for your PC:

• Run
  Windows Update to download important or critical updates on your PC.
• Determine which version of DirectX is right for you PC. Go to the

• Check to make sure you are running the latest version of Java. Start the Java app (or program) and then tap or click the
