Windows 10: svchost.exe error message "unkown software exception 0x0000420"

    svchost.exe error message "unkown software exception 0x0000420"


    I see all sorts of threads on this topic, with different exception codes and different locations. My application error today was the same exception code that I always get, but a different location: "svchost.exe error message unkown software exception 0x0000420 occurred in the application at location 0x00007FFDC9566074."


    I've posted here before, and provided the information the moderator requested, then never heard back. I hope I get a better response this time.


    I'd like to know how to address this error message, so I stop getting it.

    Received error "the exception unknown software exception (0x0000420). What is that error code and how do I fix it?

    Old title: WerFault.exe - Application Error: Unkown Software Exception 0xc000000d

    Just randomly started getting "Application Error" popups saying "The exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occured in the application at location 0x00007FFC0A5456A0. Click on OK to terminate the program."

    No clue what's causing it. Any advice?
