    Hello,

    StorSvc service, linked with PID 1716 to svchost.exe, is leaking handlers and growing by around 6 new handlers every 2 minutes. If I leave my PC on for a day it will grow to around 4k. I even saw it in around 10k once, and that's when I found this problem, as gaming on the computer started crashing due to low memory The virtual memory growth to 50GB before the fresh install.


    Checking on Resource Monitor, it seems that all handlers that are being leaked are named "REGISTRY\USERS\S-1-5-20".

    I performed a fresh clean install of Windows 10 on Monday using the Media Creation Tool, so I'm running on Windows 10 build 2004, but the issue still persist.

    Specs:

    Mobo: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

    Proc: i5 6600k not OC.

    Ram: 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance

    GPU: 2060 SUPER.

    Hello Igor,

    I use the built-in drivers for the SATA controller. I have not installed any different drivers.

    Find here a picture of the RAM tab. It will just get worst until I restart my PC. There are 2.707 handlers for the StorSvc service now.

    Hi Andrew,

    do you use built-in drivers for SATA controller or install third-party ones?

    May be there is driver memory leak. Please show memory part of Performance tab of Task manager when virtual memory is ~20GB.
