SwiftKey Keyboard now available for Windows 10 PCs

Microsoft yesterday released the Windows 10 October 2018 Update to all Windows 10 users. The latest update comes with features like Your Phone app, a brand new Skype application.

The company with the latest version of Windows 10 has finally introduced the SwiftKey Keyboard for Windows 10 PC users which was missing from a long time. The SwiftKey keyboard has been available for Android devices since 2010 and was later made available for iOS devices in 2014.

Microsoft which purchased SwiftKey, a popular third-party keyboard, in 2016 has pushed out regular updates to the Android and iOS application with new features and improvements. The SwiftKey keyboard application on Android and iOS devices lets you customize keyboards with colorful keys and also is able to show or hide the borders on the keys, secondary characters, and symbols.

However, the SwiftKey keyboard was never introduced to Windows 10 users which was a rather strange decision since the Redmond Giant had already acquired SwiftKey in 2016.

The dragging of the finger across the keyboard for typing was already available for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 10 Mobile. The company didn’t release the keyboard for its Windows 10 PC users in spite of having a successful testing stint with its Windows 10 version on mobile.

But yesterday finally the Redmond Giant introduced the SwiftKey keyboard to Windows 10 PC users with the availability of Windows 10 October 2018 Update.

The SwiftKey keyboard works similar to the application on iOS and Android devices and Windows 10 users with touch keyboard should be able to now type faster than the regular keyboard.

The new SwiftKey keyboard is already available for users who have downloaded the latest Windows 10 October 2018 Update on their PCs. Do let us know if you would be using the new SwiftKey keyboard on your PCs in the comments below.

The windows 10 keyboard DOES have a cursor control button. It's a little coloured circle that you push and pull to the desired direction. Which swiftkey features are you talking about?

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
