  1. "swipe" keyboard option for use with laptop computer Windows 11

HelloI struggle with arthritis and it's painful to spend all day at a traditional keyboard. I've tried one that is split in two and you have the parts at an angle, but the problem isn't the angle but pressing the keys. When I'm on my phone, I use the swipe keyboard to move my finger about the letters and it also uses predictive text.Is there such a keyboard that could be used with a laptop? This is my work laptop so I can't just plug anything into it or install apps.thanks!

    :)

Windows 11 laptop keyboard gone psycho

Hi! I need help. My laptop keyboard types on its own. So far, I’ve tried these troubleshooting steps with no success:

    • Restart PC
    • Ran keyboard troubleshooter
    • Uninstall keyboard
    • Scan for corrupt files
    • Reinstall windows
Nothing seems to help matters at all. Help!

    Disabling laptop keyboard

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

As per the description. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

I suggest you follow the steps below and check if that helps:

    • Press Windows + X and select
      Device Manager
      from the list.
    • Find Keyboards in the list of devices and click the arrow to expand it.
    • Right-click on the internal keyboard and click Disable. If there is no Disable option listed, click
      Uninstall.
    • Click File>Exit. Your laptop’s internal keyboard should now be disabled.
Note: If you had to choose Uninstall instead of Disable in step 4, the keyboard will be automatically detected and re-installed if you ever have the Device Manager scan for new hardware for some reason. If that happens you’ll need to repeat this procedure
in order to uninstall it again.

Hope the information helps. Please let us know if the issue persist and we will be happy to assist you further.

Is there a way to disable swipe input of the default onscreen keyboard in Windows 11?: I would admit the swipe keyboard is really good on a small touchscreen, but if my screen is large, there is too much distance to swipe when typing, and it is very easy to mis-swipe if I want to just press down some keys.
