Windows 10: Switch administrators and delete the previous one

Hello, I just got a new laptop and after a lot of problems with the first user I set up, I was able to finally log in and have access to eberything again. The problems I had with this user were because of other problems with the microsoft account itself. I want to create a new local user without a MS account associated to it and just log in with a password and use it as the administrator, the main user. I will create it and switch it to administrator account. Can I then proceed to delete the previous account with MS without problems? The new account will be the new administrator and the other ome can just disappear, right? I just want to start fresh.

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address. Administrator Rights

Follow the steps below to delete user account.

• Press Windows + X, select the Control Panel.
• Click User accounts.
• Click Manage other account.
• Enter administrator account password if prompted.
• Click the account which you want to delete.
• Click Delete the account.
• Restart PC.

The Windows.old folder will not delete


So I followed these steps:

• I opened my search box.
  
  
• In the search box, type Admin, I right clicked Disk Cleanup and selected run as Administrator.
• In the Disk Cleanup dialog, I clicked Clean up system files.
  
  
• I select the Previous Windows installation(s) check box, and then clicked OK.
  
  
• I then clicked Delete files.
  
  
  the folder is still there.... any ideas what to do now???
