Windows 10: Switch between English and Spanish

I work at a Community College that is a Hispanic Serving Institution. As such I need to find a complete, easy, and secure method to switch the Windows Display Language, Keyboard, and Programs between English and Spanish. The keyboard language can be switched with Shift-Left Alt. Unfortunately this only switches the keyboard language. Is there an easy way to also switch the Windows Display Language between English and Spanish as well. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Switching Between English and Spanish

What is your best option in Windows 10 if you would like to be able to switch easily between English and Spanish?

First of all, I am not a computer expert, but I can follow instructions.

I have installed a Spanish language pack and have learned to switch back and forth between Spanish and English, but have found some flaws:

One seems to be with my own keyboard because I can't type either of the Spanish question marks. I just get an underscore. When an MS tech got online with me, he was able to do it with his keyboard but I can't. I have to use a keyboard shortcut or insert
a symbol.

Also, when I am typing with the Spanish keyboard, I can't tell where some of the letters and characters are, like the accented "a" versus the non-accented "a" or the plain "n" versus the "n" with tilde. Do I still have to use a combination of keys for shortcuts
even though I have installed the Spanish pack?

E90 English-Spanish firmware

I bought 2 months ago a E90 in Miami which came with english/spanish firmware but right away I complained with the dealer because my E90 has the keyboard in english but the characters as I typed were as I had a spanish keyboard and led to confusion even
if I set the language to english.

He replaced the firmware again with the only another he got which used the keyboard as it came but had English, Philipino and Indonesian languages !!!!!!

I need to know which firmware has english as the default language but also spanish and when I switch it to spanish, it will keep the stock english keyboard.

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



To switch between languages in Windows 10, go to Settings->Time & Language->Region & language, select the desired display language and click on ‘up arrow’ sign to set it as display language.



To switch between keyboard layouts, you can simply use ‘Alt’ +‘Shift’ key combination.



Unless you have a Spanish keyboard, you may find it difficult to include special characters or letters such as
ñ or é in your text. I would suggest to use the on-screen keyboard to get familiar with the keys used to type these special characters on physical keyboard.
