Windows 10: Switch from Work or school account to a local account

I have been using my local account on Win 11 Pro until yesterday when I connected my work account. I was able to switch between two accounts but today I'm not able to switch to local account because when I click on "switch user" it gives me a space to input email address and password, and below it displays "Sign in to: Your work or school account." The local account I'm using on the PC is a MS outlook account, but I made it a local account and I'm able to sing into the PC using the name and password different from MS outlook credentials. Kindly advise on how to switch from work account to loca

Mybe you have to set your Windows account password. Not sure at which step are you..

In the Settings App,, go to accounts - Your Info

Is there an option to 'Stop automatically logging into Apps with this Account'?

If so, choose that and the account will switch back to a Local Account.

If not:

Select Emails and Accounts, if that Email listed there, remove it.

Select Access Work or School, if that Email listed there, remove it.

 

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
