Windows 10: Switch Input language icon bar not working windows 11

Hi, The language bar is not working. I can use Alt-Shift key to change language but not with the mouse. I uninstalled the language pack and reinstall it whereby it works on the first try and then the language bar disable itself not allowing it to select languages. Again, I uninstalled the language pack and reinstall which it allow selection of language on the first click of my mouse but not working after that. Please help. Thank You

Language Bar

Hi Jada Rae,

If you don't see the Language bar, do the following to check to see if the Language bar is hidden:

In Windows 10 and Windows 8

1. Press the Windows logo key and type Control to search for the Control Panel app.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Under Clock, Language, and Region, click Change input methods.
4. Click Advanced settings.
5. Under Switching input methods, select the Use the desktop language bar when it’s available check box, and then click Options.
6. Office 2016 Windows 8 Switching Input Methods.
7. In the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box, click the Language Bar tab, and make sure that either the Floating On Desktop or the Docked in the taskbar option is selected.

In Windows 7

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Under Clock, Language, and Region, click Change keyboard or other input methods.
3. In the Region and Language dialog box, click Change keyboards.
4. In the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box, click the Language Bar tab.
5. Language Bar tab
6. Under Language Bar, check if the Hidden option is selected. If it is, select either Floating on Desktop or Docked in the taskbar.

Bug when switching between input languages

1) Since when are you facing this issue?

2) Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

3) Check if your Windows is up-to-date by going to Settings >
Update and Security > Windows Updates and install all the Windows Updates if there are any.

4) Are you getting any error message while trying to switch between the languages?

Meanwhile, try the following troubleshooting methods.

Method 1: Changing the Key Sequence.

Step 1: Go to Control Panel and switch it to
Large icons view and click on Language.

Step 2: Click on Advanced Settings > Scroll down to the
Switching input methods and click on Change language bar hot keys.

Step 3: Now, this will bring up the Text Services and Input Languages dialogue, so select the
Between input languages and click on Change Key Sequence.

Step 4: Select the keyboard combination you would like to use for switching between the languages and click on
OK.

Method 2: Reregistering the Library Module of the Language Bar.

Step 1: Click on the Start Menu and search for
Command Prompt > Right Click on the Command Prompt and click on
Run As Administrator.

Step 2: Once the Command Prompt launches, enter the following 2 commands in the Command Prompt and hit Enter after each command.

· regsvr32.exe msimtf.dll

· regsvr32.exe msctf.dll



Step 3: Once you have entered both the commands, exit from the Command Prompt and
Restart the PC once for the changes to take effect and check for the issue.

Also, try switching the languages from the Taskbar Bar using the Language Bar option and see if you are facing the same issue.

Language bar is gone in windows 10

• Press Windows + X keys and select Control Panel.
• Search Language and select it.
• Left side pane select Advanced settings.
• Under Switching Input methods check mark "Use the desktop language bar when its available."
