Windows 10: Switching an existing user in a Windows 10 PC to a local user

Hi,


A long time ago my brother logged into my mom's laptop with his Xbox account. The account is now logged into the user as a Microsoft account. I tried to find a way to log out of the account and switch the already existing user into a local user, but no success.


-I wasn't able to find the "Switch to local account" button in the Accounts & Users settings.

-I wasn't able to log out of the account and keep the existing user without it.

-I tried going into the Microsoft account settings, and remove the laptop device.


So I'm just asking if there's any way I can remove the Microsoft account from the computerwithout deleting the existing user / adding another one.

Switch Back to Existing Local Account from Microsoft Account

I already identified that I had tried this, and that it did not allow me to switch back to the original Local Account. The Microsoft Account hijacked the User Name of the original Local Account. When I click "Sign in With a Local Account instead" and enter
the original User Name, Windows 10 won't proceed. The only way to get back to a Local Account is enter a new User Name.

• Press Alt+F4.
• This will open shut down window.
• Click the down arrow key and select Switch user from the list.
• Hit OK and it will show you other user account present on the PC.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to Switch users.

• 
  Press Ctrl + Alt + Del key altogether.
  
• 
  Click on Switch User.
  
• 
  Select the user with which you want to login.
  

If computer starts up with a user other than the one you want, login to that user account and switch user to the account that you need and check.
