Windows 10: Switching from Developer Mode to Windows Store Apps not working

Hi, I want to switch from Developer Mode to the common Windows Store App Mode, but any of the three possibilities to select in developer settings is greyed out. Developer Mode is currently active and I can configure the Developer mode as usual. Why can´t I switch the modes anymore? What´s the reason behind it? Thanks in advance. I think something is wrong with the Developer Mode, because since yesterday I can´t deploy apps to my HoloLens2 devices anymore. That´s why I want to disable and re-enable Developer Mode.

For now, I suggest that you perform the steps below to enable Developer Mode via Group Policy and check.

1. Open Group Policy Editor and navigate to the following setting:

Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App Package Deployment

2. You will need to edit and Enable the following two policies

• Allow all trusted apps to install
• Allows development of Windows Store apps and installing them from an integrated development environment (IDE

Switch Out of S Mode Not Working in Microsoft Store

I finally was able to fix this "Switch Out of S" issue. It is not obvious so I wanted to share.

First, the issue is with the Microsoft Store, not the device. Here are the steps...

• Open the Microsoft Store app
• Click on the "..." at the upper right of the screen
• Choose "Downloads and Updates"
• Scroll down to the Microsoft Store app and click to update

The update downloaded to my new Surface Go.

Then on your device...

• Go to your device's Windows Settings
• Select "Update & Security"
• Select "Activation"
• Select "Switch Out of S" and go to Microsoft Store
• Once there you will be able to make the switch

Airplane mode switch not working

Since the troubleshooting steps that were provided did not resolve the issue, we suggest switching on the Radio Management Service. To do that, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type services.msc, then hit Enter.
• Search for Radio Management Service.
  
• Right-click, then choose Start.

Note: Never ever set this service to "Disabled".
