Switching Motherboards: Can I just straight install Win11 or do I first need Win10?

Hello everyone!I am currently in the process of upgrading my PC with a new processor, mainboard etc. In parts this is due to my old processor not being able to run Windows 11. I have a Windows 10 license linked to my account and would like to upgrade to Windows 11. Could I just create an installation device for Windows 11 without license issues or do I first need to install Windows 10 and then upgrade to Windows 11 for the license to transfer? Thank you for your help!

    :)

How to use the win10 key saved on the motherboard for a clean install of win11

I bought a DELL computer a few months ago, and it already automatically upgraded to windows 11.

I would like to do a clean installation.

I don't have the win10 key but I understand that, as the computer came with win10 from the factory, the key is stored on the motherboard or in the bios.

Can I install win11 without knowing that key and then it will recognize it as original?

Is it necessary to find out that KEY that would be on the motherboard with a tool, and then enter it during the installation, or is it not necessary to enter it during the installation of windows 11 so that later it remains active with the windows10 key?

How should I proceed for a correct clean installation?

  3. Win10 Pro key for Win11

    Hi,

I’m going to re-install whole OS, and switch from Win10 to Win11.

When I previously re-installed OS (Win10 to Win10, just upgrade) I used old original key for activation and it worked.

So my question is, can I still use that same key for installing Win11, or I need to by another?

Note: I’m not going to upgrade my Win10 to Win11 because it’s easier to backup data, format disk and install newer versions of the programs that I everyday use, so please write your answers only to the question above!

    Thanks.

    Win11 upgrade not coming

If you checked again my previous replies, you can see ASUS re-installed my new notebook a even newer Win10 Home installation. After this 2nd time installation, I only did these to the toy:

    1. installed chrome
    2. changed its display brightness
    3. changed wallpaper
After your previous suggestion, the 1 month temp McAfee was gone.

I can't figure out why I can't upgrade to Win11 for such a new notebook. Newer notebook will come with Win11 natively Switching Motherboards: Can I just straight install Win11 or do I first need Win10? :)
