Windows 10: Symbiotic links in data recovery

I am in data recovery and I have learned a little about symbiotics links - a little. Software I use shows all hidden files and if I see a pairing of "Documents and Settings""D&S" and "User" folders, I know the "Users" folder is just a link and that "D&S" is the true "user" folder. If I try to recover the symbiotic link "Users" I get no client data. Only "D&S" gets me the data.My concern is what I don't know. I am aware that symbiotic links could link to other partitions and/or drives. How can I determine if there are symbiotic links to a possible "hidden" partition or that the da

Anybody knows of a good data recovery software for mac? Preferably free?

I use Active@ Data Recovery for Windows, but honestly no idea what to use for Mac OSX.

Any suggestions?

I'm giving Recuva a shot. Mussels posted a thread about data recovery and that was on the top of the list. I'll give that one a shot next if Reuva doesn't cut it. Thanks Wizz.
