Windows 10 treatments for Unicode Private Use Areas

My work partially reply on a software uses some symbols and characters defined in the Unicode Private Use Areas. After the recent Windows 10 upgrades, the displays of these symbols and characters are messed up significantly. I created some TTF fonts for
special symbols, these fonts could be displayed in Linux/Unix environment without any issues.

However, in Windows 10, font files are installed and font names appears in applications, such as Word 2010. Symbols/Characters appear correctly in Word Symbol Insertion interface, but they just don't display correctly in the document.

I searched Microsoft website and found little info about how Windows 10 treats Unicode Private Use Area. Just curious where to find some explanations or documentation about this subject.

Private Character Editor approach does not work in my case because there is a decent size coordinate effort of folks from multiple time zones. My question is: how to share some symbols defined in Unicode Private Area via TTF font files?

    Welcome to the TenForums @Rizrise

Any chance you installed on changed the Windows 10 theme?

Did you install any other software recently to "Enhance" windows?

For Powerpoint, in the screen shot you provided, right at bottom is "Bullets and numbering. Click on that. In lower left corner should be a "Reset" button.

    Hey Thanks!

No I did not install any theme or any new software to enhance windows.

It happened when I updated to some security update for my windows.

and as much as you are right about the location of the reset button, It is not clickable.

    Take a look below.

  6. Long shot. May be it is not enable as it doesn't think it has changed.

Could you try changing and clicking ok. Then re-enter and try reset.

If you have restore points enable to could restore to an earlier time. You may also want to check out Macrium Reflect to provide Images of system. It's free, reliable and saves you real time by simple going back to a working system.

    Have you installed other fonts?
Try restoring default fonts in Control Panel.
