Windows 10: Synaptics ClickPad Settings Disappeared?

Hello,


I have occasionally had issues with the two-finger scrolling mechanism on my touchpad. Usually my go-to fix is just opening the ClickPad settings and reselecting the option.


Lately, though, I have lost two-finger scrolling again, only this time, the ClickPad settings simply aren't there. In my Device Manager, under Mouse and Pointers, there is a device called "Synpatics SMBus ClickPad". However, when I open it for options, there is no tab for "options" or "settings". There used to be a "ClickPad Settings" button that I would click to open up a new window with said settings, but that has completely vanished. All that is left are the following tabs: "General" "Driver" "Details" "Events" and "Resources" - NONE of which have any sort of "options" or "settings".


I have tried numerous supposed fixes. I have rolled back the mouse driver. I've tried updating it, both automatically through the system and manually by downloading it from online. I have restarted my computer more times than I can count, and I just downloaded and installed the most recent Windows 10 update TODAY. I tried uninstalling the TouchPad device entirely and restarting, but it's still there. I even tried installing a Synaptics ClickPad APP in the Windows Store, but for some reason it won't even download!


Please help! I just want my two finger scrolling back, that's all I ask. I never use an actual physical mouse, so the ClickPad is really all I have.

I have a Vaio multi flip 15 with synaptics clickpad that supports multi gestures but I don't have new windows 10 gestures could anyone tell me how to get them working

Synaptics driver update for Synaptics SMBus ClickPad - Error 0x800f0248

Hi,

This issue may occur due to the outdated Synaptic Touchpad
drivers. Try the below steps and check if it helps.

I would suggest you to download and install the latest Synaptic Touchpad drivers from the device manufacturer’s website and uninstall the Synaptic touchpad drivers and re-install the same again.

Note: Make sure you download and save the Touch Pad driver and installed it before uninstalling the same.

To uninstall Synaptic touchpad drivers, follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Locate Mice and other pointing devices and expand the same.
  
• 
  Right-click the Synaptic driver and select
  Uninstall. (Note: keep the latest installed Synaptic driver)
  
• 
  Restart the computer, if prompted.

Synaptic Clickpad not working while typing on windows 10

I would have assumed the settings you're looking for would have been under the ClickPad Settings button in your first screen shot like your links suggest ("Palm check" or "SmartSense").

Have you tried installing the latest Synaptic drivers from here and see if they have an option to disable it?
