Windows 10: Synaptics SMBus Touchpad - can't disable even when uninstalling

I'm ready to physically tear out the touchpad!
I've tried looking all over the web to find out why I can't disable the touchpad on my HP Laptop anymore when the USB Mouse is plugged in.
I've tried going to settings no option appears, device manager to update and rolling back the drivers on my touchpad, uninstalling the touchpad, downloading the most current drivers, updating drivers with windows, using Control Panel to change mouse properties, NOTHING is working anymore.

I was able to find the box to click or unclick the "Disable touchpad when a USB Mouse is installed" in properties previously but that seems to have totally disappeared. Is there any help out there? THANKS! as my computer has become a pain to type on without the cursor jumping all over, or changes made to text because of my palm hitting the pad.

Synaptics SMBus touchpad not in devices

Hello,

My Synaptics SMBus touchpad is not in the list of devices in the devicemanager. It has removed itself i think.

Of course the touchpad is not working.



Is there any way to add this again.

Hi,

This issue may occur due to the outdated Synaptic Touchpad
drivers. Try the below steps and check if it helps.

I would suggest you to download and install the latest Synaptic Touchpad drivers from the device manufacturer’s website and uninstall the Synaptic touchpad drivers and re-install the same again.

Note: Make sure you download and save the Touch Pad driver and installed it before uninstalling the same.

To uninstall Synaptic touchpad drivers, follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Locate Mice and other pointing devices and expand the same.
  
• 
  Right-click the Synaptic driver and select
  Uninstall. (Note: keep the latest installed Synaptic driver)
  
• 
  Restart the computer, if prompted.
