Windows 10: Synaptics Touchpad not working when USB mouse disconnected

Synaptics driver v19.5.35.54

I set "disable Synaptics when USB mouse is connected"
and indeed the Trackpad will be disconnected when I use the USB mouse,
But hen I disconnect the mouse the Synaptics track pad does NOT work!

Mouse and touchpad not working

Hey did exactly what you suggested and the first time i did it the mouse cursor became visible, it was at the center of the screen but i still couldnt make it move with the touchpad and i plugged in my usb mouse and that doesnt work too. I did it a few moret times but cursor never showed up again and still could make either the touchpad or the mouse to work. Do you have anymore suggestion?

 

Latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver for Windows 10


After updating from b. 10240 to 10586.3 ( W 10 x64), Windows installed an older version of Synaptics 19.0.15.2, before I had 19.0.19.1.
Also now, in Device Manager, it's listed under PS/2 Port touchpad, before it was SmBus.
Windows Update does no longer provide 19.0.19.1 driver, Why??
What are the recommended steps to get installed manually the latest Synaptics driver because with the currently installed driver, mouse scrolling does not work for Start menu - All apps, with 19.0.19.1 it used to work.
Also what is the name of the x64 .inf to use for update synSmbDrv.inf or SynPD.inf??

Synaptics TouchPad Driver - Failed to Install

Hi brummyfan.

HID mouse driver is the USB mouse that I am using, however I have tried your suggestion also and no luck there either. It would however be interesting to see if I could get Windows 8 installed and see if it actually is an OS driver problem or the hardware...
