Windows 10: Sync issue with Windows Calendar

I've got a Windows 10 laptop, which is my primary working environment, and a VM, which is needed for some tasks. The VM is less than ideal, so I try to stay away from it.


The VM has outlook, and I can access my work email and calendar through it. The laptop itself does not have outlook, but does have the Windows Mail and Calendar apps which I find more pleasant anyway, but that's besides the point. I've added my account to the Windows apps. Email works fine; I can send and receive email through Outlook as well as through the Mail app. The calendar is a problem, however.


If I make a meeting in the Calendar app, it does not propagate to Outlook, nor are invites sent. If I make the same meeting in Outlook, invites are sent, and it appears near instantly in the Calendar app. For example:

First:

In Outlook, I make meeting A.

In Calendar, I make meeting B.

Then:

In Outlook, I see meeting A.

In Calendar, I see meeting A and B. Meetings A and B are in the same calendar, and appear exactly the same in Calendar.


If I then delete meeting A in Calendar, it also disappears from Outlook. Same for changes: if I rename meeting A to C in Calendar, Outlook reflects this change.


It's just that new meetings are not propagated at all, and I'm at a loss. Does anyone have any idea on what might be going on here?

calendar sync?

IT might be helpful if you describe the steps you're taking to try and sync the calendars. I'm not sure where eMail might come into the picture.

Also describe your goal as clearly as possible. you're trying to sync a calendar on the iPhone with the Calendar App on Win10, not a calendar in an eMail client?

ical seems to be the canonical calendar format for apple - not sure - just a guess.

At this point, I suggest you to check if it helps to use the web version of the calendar to sync the existing calendar details.

Please follow the below steps.

Step 1: Export Google Calendar

• Click on the the gear button, then navigate to Settings > Calendars > Export calendars.
• It downloads as a zip, so copy the .ics file out.

Step 2: Import or subscribe to a calendar in Outlook.com

• Follow the instructions prescribed in the below Help Article.

Step3: Next, open your calendar app to check if you can see the events which were used in your Google calendar.
