  1. Sync time daily

I got some "problems" when it comes to the automatic syncing, i can't tell if it actually works or not, recently i have noticed it hasn't synced in weeks so i manually sync, and it can be 30+ seconds behind. Now i know that it's not a huge thing, but to me i find it odd that it's not syncing more often. I know i tried changing the interval in the registry to do it more often, but that doesn't seem to have done anything. Running the task "SynchronizeTime" in task scheduler also doesn't work, but not sure if that's even supposed to work as the service is set to Manual (Custom Trigger) and it seems this task expects it to be running and it's mostly stopped. So i am wondering if there's a way to change the syncing interval to do it daily or something similar?

    :)

  2. Unable to sync Windows 10 time with time servers

I have a new, OEM installation of Windows 10 that is unable to contact any time servers to sync the system time. Each attempt gives me a timeout error, and pinging the time server times out as well. Here is what I've tried:

    • Checked that the Windows Time service is running and set to automatic startup, and restarted it
    • Disabled my firewall
    • Tried using time.nist.gov, which is currently working according to NIST
    • These steps using w32time, which appeared to succeed but didn't update the time

The time is currently off by 7 hours, which shouldn't be far enough to break Internet syncing.

EDIT: Just tried the same steps on my other computer which boots only Windows (albeit an longer-standing installation of 10), and had the exact same issue, except when I try syncing it simply says "An error occurred when Windows was synchronizing with time.nist.gov." So I highly doubt it is dual boot-related. What is going on?

  3. Time sync error

Time is consistently slow anywhere from 3-25 mins.
    Steps I've taken
Changed the sync local from windows to nist gov(and every other option).
    Verified correct time zone/region.
    Unregistered and re-registered w32tm.
Created a task that first runs windows time then runs sync and repeats the process every ten minutes.
Checked time in command prompt against system time(cmos check) matched.
    Replaced the cmos battery anyway.
    Clean install of Win 10.
Updated every driver verified no yellow? in device manager.
I can manually fix the issue but I paid for windows and don't see why something as simple as a clock should require my attention on a daily(hourly) basis.
I've put a lot of money into this PC and it may be petty but it drives me bat**** every time I look at the time and it's off by 2 mins to 3 hrs.
I consider myself pretty windows savvy and am at wits end, any solution to the problem will be met with the warmest of welcomes.
