  1. Syncing encrypted files and folders between two computers with NTFS and Windows 10/11 Pro

Background: I have encrypted most of my data files on computer A using EFS. I sync those files with computer B using Syncthing. I have installed the EFS certificate from computer A onto computer B and vice versa. Both computers use Windows Pro and NTFS. My question: If I edit a file that was encrypted on computer A on computer B and save it, will it be re-encrypted with the original encryption credentials from computer A or with one from computer B? I'm hoping that the answer is "it's always re-encrypted with the same encryption credentials," because I edit files on both computer and

Private folders encrypted and password protected folders

    How good is the encryption?

I use the encrypted file approach and mount it to a drive letter. I like having all those files in the same place and I can copy it to any other computer or backup it up to ftp, server or whatever. All I need is to have a copy of TC installed at the new location. I'm guessing the priv folders feature is like NTFS file security except, would you be able to take ownership on the new machine?

    IDK.

If you need solid and/or multi-layer encryption, you have to at least look at TC.

    Encrypting folders in Windows 10

The encryption facility to encrypt files or folders is greyed out. Have tried the methods suggested i.e. going into cmd and changing the fsutil file to 0 and also going into the ntfs file and doing the same but nothing works. Any suggestions please?
