Windows 10: Syncing 'My Documents' across 2 remote PCs via onedrive?

I can't figure out how to do this:I have a w10 PC at one location, with a windows account, and a separate onedrive account that has 1tb storage through a school MS account. I am logged into the school onedrive account, and the PC's My Documents folder is backed up through the school MS onedrive account. So when I navigate to "my documents", the folder is fully backed up.On a second remote w10 PC, it is logged into a local account after having been activated, and onedrive is logged into the same school provided onedrive account.Here's the issue: the My documents folder from PC 1 syncs to a one

Syncing Two PC's with OneDrive

1. OneDrive should work exactly the way you suggest if everything is syncing correctly. The files on both PCs and in the cloud work as if they were in a single drive. Except that some online OneDrive files can't be modified and get deleted and are then
replaced by the newly modified files. Deleted files go to the online recycle bin. If you empty the recycle bin and you need to recover a file it may still be recoverable in the online OneDrive "File History".

OneDrive keeps track of the time you modify a file and will sync files accordingly. So when you start a synced device wait until the file you previously worked on syncs up before working on it again.

2. The answer is "Yes" if you put your downloaded files in your documents folder. Program Files folders don't sync and neither does the Downloads folder.

Change Documents Shortcut

It is possible because I just did it a week ago.

I don't remember the exact steps and can't verify this since I stopped all syncs with OneDrive and uninstalled it when done.

I got the same error when I tried to move the Documents folder from OneDrive
I went into the OneDrive Settings, then Backup > Manage backup.
I unchecked the selection for the Documents folder.
Once I did that I was able to move the Documents folder from OneDrive

This is the only way I know to do it. I suggest you only keep things in the Documents folder you don't want synced with OneDrive. For files currently in OneDrive\Documents that you still want to sync with OneDrive, create a new folder and move them there. Then just add this folder to the ones synced by OneDrive
