Windows 10: Syncing windows 10 Calendar with another user

HI

I am trying to set up a shared calendar with my wife using outlook.com. We each have individual calendars on our outlook.com accounts. I have successfully shared my calendar with her as co-owner and this seems to work but only if she posts to my calendar when making entries. There is a setting in her outlook calendar to choose my calendar to post to in addition to hers. If she uses her calendar instead that entry does not get added to my calendar. I suppose she could also share her calendar with me so that we both have shared calendars but this seems an awkward way of doing it. Am I missing something but is there no other way of syncing two calendars together?

Why another app?

Hi,

I am wondering why another application to sync the phone with yet another its own place to store contacts and calendars etc...I currently use Windows Live and it syncs the email and contacts. Of course I would like to see my phone calendar sync'ed with Live
Calendar as well which it does not but barring that it works very well. Could the Live Sync not have been enhanced to provide these additional capabilities - Calendar sync + file backup? What are the compelling benefits of this app for the user, compelling
enough to maintain data possibly in two places - Live & this?
