I have a new windows 10 HP laptop v1903. Clicking on this PC shows connected devices. My problem is that clicking on DS.213j opens the Synology hard drive without a password being needed. I usually open the Synology in my main PC by searching under "Internet" where it can be opened but requires a password. On my laptop the Synology is not listed under "Internet" only HP Laptop is listed.

    synology sign in crudentials

At last found the problem. I recently added the Firefox add on "HTTPS Everywhere". I disabled it re-started the PC and voila! when I clicked on my DS213J in network\file explorer it opened up without asking for crudentials. I found a link in Firefox
which suggested it was a cookie or browser log on problem. The strange thing is that Firefox connected me to the Synology log on page no problem when using Synology Assistant or just typing in the IP address.

    synology sign in crudentials

No same result as many on that thread. Still wants sign in crudentials each time I log into the PC. Tried mapping the specific drives on my Synology but with the same result. Not the best option anyway I didn't want to have to map 3 items ie: music,
TV shows and movies and that left concerts, photos etc unmapped. Think I will just have to keep adding password on request. Don't understand this though as it is fairly recent problem. Many thanks.
