Windows 10: Sysconfig error after installing ASUS AC1200 USB-AC53 Nano Wi-Fi Adapter

The HP installed Intel Wi-Fi card in my laptop is bad out of warranty so I bought an ASUS AC1200 USB-AC53 Nano adapter. I installed it today and it works great, except.......Short version:If I reboot the system with the adapter installed I get a screen stating that the system could not boot and the system will restart in troubleshooting mode. The fine print says there is a sysconfig error. Then the system shuts down and does not restart. I have gotten into the advanced troubleshooting tools and run the sysconfig or startup repair tool forget what it is called but that comes back and s

Wow I got lucky.

Would really look at something like this as a viable alternative. They are tiny. Not necessarily this one but one like it.

Using laptop as second screen for pc. Projection is not supported

Hello,

I'm trying to use my laptop as a second screen for my desktop. However, there's a message in the settings for projection: "This device does not support wireless projection.... "
There's no wireless adapter in my pc so I think that might be the issue here?

Also, dxdiag says: Miracast: Available, no HDCP

USB Wi-Fi Adapter Disabling

Is it on Windows 8's compatibility list (check MS website- forgot link)?

I had an issue with one Wi-fi adapter and it wasn't listed as compatible- All was well when I swapped it out with one on the compatibility list
