System black screen and restart when plugged in but not on battery power

Hi, Just wondering if anyone could give some advice please. My laptop, which I've recently repasted, tends to crash in games almost instantly when plugged into my power brick. I've tried running War Thunder and DCS but both have crashed almost immediately upon hitting any sort of graphics-intensive screen. When on battery power with power settings maxed, I get 0 issues running games on ultra settings all the way until the battery dies. I have tried lowering the TDP in GHelper ranging from 20W all the way to 200W. Nothing I have tried allows me to run these games for more than a minute or so be

    :)

about plug-in or plug-out with AC adapter

I have done all of the above and when I plug my computer in with a fully charged battery the screen still goes black - I am on Windows 10 and my computer is 3 days old - HP Pavillion Laptop - I know there has got to be an easy answer for this Problem - Like
a setting somewhere, but I am used to using my computer plugged in at all times and I think that it is stupid that I have to take out the battery to do this??? Any more suggestions??? :-(
