I was trying to assist a a freeing who was now unable to use his preferred email app Thunderbird because it would not recognize his PW. AOL/Verizon and Gmail worked just fine. After uninstalling and reinstalling the app with no success, my friend decided to trying System Restore using a restore point prior to his email problem. That's when real problem began! After the restore began, a window popped up stating that here was a problem and that a scan and repair would begin. This repeated at least three or four times giving various options one of which was to shut down the PC. My friend decided

  2. Windows 10 system restore issues

It has been a known issue with OOB setup if an OEM installation is done. As OEM bloatware doesnt allow to complete the OOB setup.
Disable secure boot if that fixes your problem.. If no go try these steps.

    1. Either boot from a windows DVD or windows 10 USB..
If you dont have any of those... Try to crash the computer by powering off as soon as it starts loading windows (moving dots) 3 times..
    2. If you are crashing you system jump to step 4
3.. Choose repair your computer if you are booting from a DVD...
    4. Troubleshoot>> Advanced Options... and choose startup repair. If not resolved
    5. Same steps and choose > System restore.. If you face the same issue after a system restore.
    5. Try to reset without Losing files.. It will delete all the programs though.

Automatic repair loop, no safe mode, no system restore

I'm not sure if this is the right section for this thread, if not I apologize.

A couple of nights ago my computer was in the process of going to sleep and it decided instead it wanted to crash. I restarted it the next morning and was greeted by the screen telling me that Windows was attempting to repair. I was then greeted by this screen:

system crashed and went into a "repair loop" after trying system restore to resolve and... [IMG]

I have attached the file mentioned in the screenshot.
I have no access to safe mode, it goes into the loop as well.
I tried system restore, it said it was successful, but yet the loop continued.
When I use bcdedit to turn off the automatic recovery I am greeted with this screen:

system crashed and went into a "repair loop" after trying system restore to resolve and... [IMG]

I have run chkdsk and it says there are no errors. I can load into a linux dual boot I have so I'm pretty sure it isn't a hardware issue. Running "sfc /scannow" returns and error, I will try to post what it is soon, I forgot to write it down.

    Thanks for any help,
    Isaac

Windows 10 wont boot, repair, reset, or system restore

    Hi,

The issue occurs due to an
    unfinished update process which
corrupted the system files. We suggest that you try these troubleshooting
methods and run the update again:

    Method 1:
    Run SFC Scan.

    To run an
    SFC scan, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Type
      sfc /scannow
      and hit
      Enter.

This will check and run an auto-repair on the issue.

    Method 2:
    Run DISM Tool.

    After running the
    SFC scan
and the issue still persist, run the
    DISM
to check the system health and to try restoring the files. To run
    DISM tool, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Type the following command:

      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth

      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    NOTE:
    This might take a while
    to finish scanning.
    Do not cancel.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.
