Windows 10: System crashes and refuses to boot when i update microsoft basic display adapter

Whenever I try to update my microsoft basic display adapter my laptop crashes and boots into recovery mode and I had to reset my laptop many times is there a reason for this or am I doing something wrong?I got the drive from intel's website and ran it with their support assist program and I made sure that the drive was compatibleMy laptop is a dell alienware 17r4 with intel i7 7th gen and nvidia gtx 1080

VGN-FS570, clean install from xp to win 10 having a problem the graphic display, only seeing microsoft basic display adapter, not getting the full screen of the display, cannot change the adapter, tried
to install adapter, not supported by your device

the problem is cannot change microsoft basic display adapter, not getting full screen on display, also seeing a yellow arrow on the adapter in device manager, was able to get full screen when using win xp. how do i fix this problem,

3. Opened device manager

4. Clicked on display adapter

5. Then i ooened Microsoft basic display adapter

6. Then i clicked on update driver.

Then i clicked on search automatically
