System Disk Jumps to 100% Active Time with 0 Read or Write

Hello, this is my first time posting on the forum, but the problem I have is that whenever I am playing a game, the system diskSamsung 970 Evo would randomly jump to 100% usage with 0 write and 0 read even if the game is installed on another drive. Sometimes only the game freezes and sometimes the entire pc freezes. I did some troubleshooting like repairing windows using cmd, reinstalling windows, disabled everything the internet has told me to, and checked my disk using cmd and CrytalDiskInfo which read the disk's health is at 100%.

I bought another one of the 970 evo 2 days ago to test it out but the problem persists, so I'm thinking it's an software issue.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - Active Time 100% - Read Speed 0 KB/s - Write Speed 0 KB/s - for exactly 60 seconds

I have recently conducted a fresh reinstall of Microsoft Windows 10 Home - none of my hardware has changed.

I am getting sporadic freeze-ups of the operating system. These freeze-ups appear to last for exactly 60 seconds.

I have attempted to diagnose the issue using Task Manager- under the
Performance tab I can see the freezes coincide with Disk 0 (CSystem Disk Jumps to 100% Active Time with 0 Read or Write :) hitting 100% active time - for exactly 60 seconds (I can see this because the graph is '60 seconds across').

The Active Time is 100 %, the Average Response Time is 0 ms, the
Read Speed is 0 KB/s, and the Write Speed is 0 KB/s.

What I have tried so far:

    • Disabling the Page file for C:.
    • Running System File Checker /SFC with administrative privileges.
    • Running Deployment Image Servicing and Management Tool (DISM)
    • Disabling several services: Windows Search and Superfetch.
    • Checked SMART status of SSD using Kingston SSD Toolbox.
    • Updated Windows using Windows Update.
    • Run Windows Troubleshooter - System Maintenance.

What do people recommend my next steps should be?

RAID 1 disk goes 100% activity all the time with 0 read/write with 0ms response

I have setup software RAID 1 in windows 10 v1709. Main disk is SATA3 ssd but I have also two 3TB Seagate disks in software RAID 1 (mirrored). I have this setup for a few mounths and I had no problems with it until now.
One of the seagate disks goes 100% activity all the time even the read/write is 0 and the response time is also 0. After like 15 minutes of not using the disk it goes back to 0% but when I want to access that RAID disk only that one goes again to 100% and the response time is about 3000-12000 ms. Also I have to wait long time to acces foledr I just opened. I think the disk might be damaged or broken or it could be a software error.

Also sometimes the system freez out of nowhere, everything is fine and then I can not even press ctrl+alt+del .. I have to wait about minute to get back access.

hope you undesrtood my problem, my english isn't the greatest..

  4. System Disk Jumps to 100% Active Time with 0 Read or Write

Disk Active time 100% Disk transfer rate 0

This is a problem I've seen reported countless times, on Microsoft support sites and elsewhere. Task Manager shows "Disk Active time 100% Disk transfer rate 0", and everything that's running on the computer freezes, although sometimes you can switch windows,
or even perform some operations within a window, but other times
everything freezes, including the mouse pointer. It usually lasts for 30 or 60 seconds, but sometimes it goes on for several minutes. Then it stops and everything goes back to normal, including Disk active time and Disk transfer rate.

It happens regardless of the apps I'm running or the activities I'm doing. I've even seen it happen with no user apps running at all - no browser, no file manager, nothing but background stuff. It happens every single day, regardless of whether there has
    been a Windows update installed.

Microsoft gave me a fix for this problem a week ago, but it didn't work. Here are the steps I followed:

    at admin command line prompt:

    • Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    • reboot
    • find driver file for Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller
      • C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\iaStorA.sys
    • Details tab from Properties window for controller
      • Device instance path:
        • PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C83&SUBSYS_06B01028&REV_03\3&11583659&0&FA
    • find registry key for disk controller
      • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C83&SUBSYS_06B01028&REV_03\3&11583659&0&FA\Device Parameters\Interrupt Management\MessageSignaledInterruptProperties
      • change MSISupported from 1 to 0
    • reboot
The instructions I was given include this for Step 4: If you see “StorAHCI.sys” in the list, you are running the inbox driver. But my driver is iaStorA.sys, so maybe this
fix doesn't even apply to me.

After doing all of the above, twice, I still have the problem. I've seen this now over a period of about three years, on two completely different laptops, one a Toshiba running Windows 8.1 and currently on a Dell running Windows 10. I also have a Thinkpad
for work that runs W7, and I've never seen it happen on that machine. It got so bad on the Toshiba that I ended up discarding it, after spending countless hours trying to fix it.

I've also tried all the fixes I've found on the web, e.g. disable superfetch, disable BITS, add write permissions to Skype and the browser. Nothing I've found so far has helped. I also reverted Windows back to build 1703. That didn't help either.
