Windows 10: System doesn't let me extract my hard drive

    System doesn't let me extract my hard drive


    I can't use the "Extract device" option in Windows, it always say it's in use by another program. When I checked with Process Explorer and other detailed "task managers", filtering by its Device Letter, I didn't find any process using it. So I decided to check my Event Logs, specially in the System folder. When I filtered by the 225 ID, I had what I expected, a warning about a process using it... it said that System stopped the extraction of it:Of course, I can't just stop System because it would crash my system, so I tried to look for solutions. After searching for help online, I stumbled int

    I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

    I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

    Are the step-by-step processes identical? That is, the folder extracted from and the folder extracted to belong to the same hierarchical file system structure. If they are, that suggests mildly the Cumulative Update left an electron or two out of place.

    Thanks pyramid10 for your contribution, I ensured that the steps taken and the source and destination folders were the same, in the using zip7 as suggested by BunnyJ resolved all issues for me.
    I am the first to admit that I am a long long way from understanding the intricacies of computers and if truth be told I am now to old anyway to absorb much information.
