    System Failure On First Boot


    Hello!


    So, since the last windows update, I've been experiencing an issue- I'm not sure if it was actually caused by the update, but I felt it was worth mentioning.


    Whenever I start up the computer, my first attempt to boot it never gets past the OS boot-up; it'll usually get to the screen where it shows Windows loading, and suddenly my computer just shuts down. But then when I try a second time, it always boots up fine, though I get a notification from my graphics software that my settings had been reset "due to an unexpected system failure". I can't really detect any other issues with the PC. My disk and driver scans, on third-party software and the Windows' methods, said that everything is fine. I haven't downloaded or updated any programs recently, including before the issues started. I've scanned with the multiple programs on my computer and I can't find any viruses.


    I was just wondering if anyone knew why this might be happening. It doesn't cause any real performance issues, maybe a little slow down but that may be a coincidence and isn't bad enough to really concern me. Is this from the new update? Is it just a bug that'll patch itself naturally or in the next update, or a different issue I should actually be concerned about?

    Disk Boot Failure!

    No, I wasn't able to boot either disk. Only: BOOT DISK FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

    Confusing Disk Boot Failure

    Well, Brand new Harddrive the western digital se16 caviar 640. Had a clean install, and while installing drivers and programs after a couple restarts I am receiving disk boot failure. Not the first restart or the second. Each time that it has given me the failure was after installing updates. I've system restored to before installing the updates and it works fine. It's a large list of around 38 or so updates. Granted may be a fluke but anyone heard of this?

    ...It didn't work ktr! It still says: DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
