Windows 10: System File Error -1073740791

    System File Error -1073740791


    I encountered this error out of nowhere one day, and with it, it doesn't allow me to run anything that requires changes to my computer i.e. administrator mode. I tried using SFC to fix this, but it requires the CMD prompt to be in administrator mode, which can't open. I've tried installing the Windows 10 ISO files, but to open them, I need the Media Tool which also requires administrator mode, so I can't open that. This happened out of the blue, I hadn't even installed anything for a while. Help?

    Hi,

    I have recently bought games from steam and wanted to install steam onto my laptop so I can play these games. But as I save it to my selected file it, a message pops up regarding:

    C:\users\USER\Desktop\.....\Steam\steamSetup.exe

    File system error -1073740791.

    I have tried to restore my hard drive but it hadn't made a difference. Also I have tried to use commands such as /sfc... but the it stops at 8%.

    It would be appreciative if you could reply to my problem.
