Windows 10: system freezes after Windows update

While shutting down the system yesterday 6/10/2025, windows asked for "update and shutdown", which I chose and after that my system freezes within 5 min after the start. I'm not able to run the diagnostics as well. It freezes in the middle. However, all the tests are passed when testing is done through boot menu.

If your Windows 10 freezes while updating, it could be due to corrupted or incompatible drivers or system files, or third-party application conflicts. We suggest you to run the
Windows Update troubleshooter, and check if it helps. Here are the steps:

• Type Control Panel in the Search bar, and press
  Enter on the keyboard.
• Go to Troubleshooting.
• Click View All.
• Right-click on Windows Update from the list.
• Select Run as Administrator.
• Click Next and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.

System freeze when downloading the updates.

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down to the issue.

• Does the system freezes during the time of update?
• Did you install any third party security application?
• Did you install any application or make any changes prior to the issue?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to place the computer in a Clean boot state and check if you are able to perform the updates.
