Windows 10: System Hacked/Duplicated with SSH Transfers, DirectAccess, etc stuff going on We Never...

Hello Microsoft Community,This is our post from another forum, but the updated part is most accurate with MSC files in heavy duplication and access being limited once certain actions happen by us. All of this stuff happens even after a fresh copy of Windows 10 is installed directly downloaded from Microsoft site and not elsewhere onto a freshly formatted HD. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get out of this mess? We've been forced into a workgroup by an unauthorized party it seems that has taken control over everything. The PC was bought brand new no refurbished/used/returned/recycled

Windows 11 ssh broken

I just got ssh working yesterday on a clean install of Windows 11 after some thrashing. It does work. This is possibly a config difference that tends to happen. In fact, it worked as smoothly in Windows 11 as Windows 10 previously. With SSH, config differences can be a good amount of brain work

You can debug on the Windows 11 machine itself which I find the easiest since you can connect through the network the same and it makes things easier to get it working that way first.

PowerShell: ssh -v -p PORT USERNAME@IP ie ssh -v -p 22 *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

That will show ssh connection debug info and you can see all of what's actually going on. If it works then it will log you into SSH. Then you can simply duplicate it on the other system. Outside of that then it would be a firewall or router issue as it should otherwise work on other systems if the above works.

But, if that doesn't work then you have a ssh configuration issue. The issues there are the ssh config in the ssh folder and the user .ssh folder stuff.

 

Windows 7 Ultimate includes DirectAccess. Will Windows 10 Pro keep it active?

My company is not big enough to justify the cost of Software Assurance. We upgraded a laptop from Win7 Pro to Ultimate, SPECIFICALLY for DirectAccess as the least expensive way to get it for a single machine. With DirectAccess deprecated in the upgrade
it means that the laptop will be staying as Windows 7 Ultimate and NOT losing a valuable feature to the "free" Win10Pro upgrade. More is less.

 

xmodem transfers over ssh to a switch

I'm testing ways to transfer and IOS to a switch remotely. Basically, I can ssh into the device and send an xmodem .bin file. A file that was 10kb worked fine. But when I tried to do anything over 100kb it freezes at a certain point. Any problems, or settings I need to be aware of?
